Yoga in the form of asana, the postures was introduced into my life during my 6th grade as an only option to engage myself in physical activity. I was a short and stout girl–with no exception and possibility left I started to move my body and stretch to find the perfection of pose. Eventually my regular practice took me to state level competitions where I won prizes. But after 5 years of practice, I had to undergo a major fracture of my right arm and was not able to do anything for next 4 months. During this time, I learned to write and eat only. I was not ready to use my hand to balance again.

After a decade I started to practice yoga asana more consistently again as post partum induced more stiffness in my body. In 2021 I moved to the US from India, which brought me to Cincinnati for my post doctoral studies. I came across World Peace Yoga while walking back to my home from work. Something attracted me there and I got to meet Anna and discussed with her about learning yoga again. I couldn’t believe that I could do a headstand in my life again.

With the support of the teachers I was able to more deeply learn the basics of asana, how to breath, and be still. There I realized I was practicing all my life only with the body but forgot to breath. It was through World Peace Yoga I learned to practice yoga by uniting both my body and mind. This a place where I find peace and that peace I call is what I call my home.

If my experience inspires you and you want to find more ease with your breath, World Peace Yoga is the right place to learn and practice with a great satsang, community. Apart from yoga I like to sing, perform research, and love doing arts/crafts, cooking, gardening and painting.

Please connect with me at my Yoga Basics class where I teach a combination of philosophy, breathwork, movements, and more.
